The design revised by Frank Argall from Carn Dhu , a Rodney Warrington Smythe yacht dating from the 1920’s and built in Portleven. By the early 1980’s Terry Heard began producing a range of traditional Cornis... read more

*The owner will include the price of transportation to Falmouth (or near) in sale price. The Falmouth Working Boats have survived as a class because of the oyster fishing which has continued in the river Fal for hundreds of years. The native oysters are grown in the shallow waters of the upper reaches of the river and must only be dredged under sail or oar by law. This boat is a lovely example of the original Falmouth Working Boat, her pretty lines draw the eye and the capacity for a huge sail area is immediately obvious from the length of her elegant spars, her bowsprit alone is 16ft long.... read more

This yacht is one for the more traditional yachtsman. She is a much admired class of boat with good sea keeping qualities. She has the benefit of having a new engine fitted a few years ago so she is reliable and can motor at a good pace against an adverse tide. She has recently been relaunched and has had her standing rigging changed, with a new furling system fitted. A new mainsail has also been fitted, If you are in the market for a good wooden yacht she is worth a visit to view. These boat details are subject to contract.
