Description
The Colvic Countess 28 needs no introduction, this ubiquitous marque has been around since 1980. Many were home completed to varying standards, some indifferent but some surprisingly good. Georgy Girl, being factory built definitely falls into the latter category.
Georgy Girl benefits from recent upgrades of new sails, including cruising chute with snuffler, plus she was re-engined just a few years ago.
Whilst not intended as a racer she has a sufficient turn of speed for the discerning cruising sailor, that is what Ian Anderson the designer and Colvic Craft Ltd UK who were based in Essex set out to achieve. She has proved her sea legs with a return trip to Sweden by a previous owner and of course being a bilge-keeler will appeal to those wishing to creek crawl.
Accommodation
For a 28 footer there is voluminous accommodation below decks all recently re-upholstered in bright fabric.. She boasts a good size forecabin, a mid-ships head to port with sliding basin above with a hanging locker opposite the heads. The main cabin seats 6 in comfort with the galley to port and the chart table to starboard.
