Morning Star is a charming 57’ traditional stern narrowboat built by Les Wilson in 2003. She is fitted out in oak faced ply with oak trim throughout, and is well equipped to be a live-a-board or for long term cruising.
A full survey was carried out in March 2020, the engine was serviced in February 2023, and she was blacked in April 2023.
You enter the boat onto the 4’6” welldeck, with storage locker seating either side of a drop down table. Under the deck is a 500L stainless steel fresh water tank and forward is the gas locker with 2x 13kg bottles with a changover valve.
Stepping down into the 9’0” saloon there is Bubble diesel stove that has a back boiler connected to 3 radiators through the boat. On the otherside is storage and an open space that would suit a sofa or a couple of armchairs opposite a LG 32” TV and shelves.
Next the 5’10” dinette which converts to a spare double, and provides a space to sit and eat. There are 2 cushions ready to be modified into a day bed mattress for the berth.
The 9’0” galley follows; all the white goods are to the portside including a Stoves 500 DIT oven, grill and 4 burner hob, Inlander 12v fridge with icebox, Samusing 9kg washing machine and a Breville microwave. The starboard side has a bank of drawers and a cupboard. There is also a side hatch which brings in additional light and fresh air.
On to the 6’0” bathroom which is off corridor, featuring a Sealand pump out toilet, 3/4 bath with a shower over and a plastic counter sunk sink with cupboard below.
After this we enter the 10’3” bedroom. The bed itself is 6’2” x 4’0” with storage under. At the foot of the bed is a large wardrobe with 2 drawers and cupboards below.
Steps lead out into the 3’10” engine room, with the Beta 38 engine housed below. Another step leads out onto the stern deck.
She is centrally heated by the Bubble diesel back boiler, connected to 3 radiators, plus an electric frost heater. Hot water is via the engine and immersion.
There is 430w of solar with a Victron MPPT solar charge controller to help keep the bank of 4x 115ah leisure batteries topped up. 240v power is supplied by either the landline hook up or the Victron 3kw inverter/charger.
Lighting onboard is mostly LED.
She is ideally laid out, making the most of the space available to make a lovely go-anywhere length boat!
